Barbara Amstrong is currently employed in the Engineering Department
at Sequana Therapeutics (a gene discovery biotechnology company.)
She has a B. A. in Psychology, with an emphasis in experimental
design and statistical data analysis, from UCSD. Her projects
include assay automation, feasibility studies, validation, and
quality improvement. Barbara is also the Chair of the Association
for Women in Science Education Outreach Committee. The committee
has developed "hands-on" science experiments, conducted workshops
and teacher inservices, has served as coaches to a Science Olympiad
team, and provides speakers on scientific topics to area schools.
This year they will be developing mentoring and internship programs.
Barbara served on the Association for Women in Science Board
of Directors, and is a AAAS member. |
