Mark Gabler

Mark has taught high school biology for 25 years. The last 23 years have been at Valhalla High School (in the Grossmont Union High School District), where he currently teaches first year and second year (honors/A.P.) Biology. Mark is Science Department Chair, and serves as the Chair of the District Science Council. Mark has a BA in Biology and a Masters of Education from SDSU. He was a Woodrow Wilson Fellow in 1995, and has taken significant summer coursework in Cell Biology, Biotechnology, and DNA Science at the University of Wisconsin - Madison (through their Teacher Enhancement Program). Mark was a lead teacher in the DNA Science cours at UW in 1996, and will do so again the summer of 1997. Mark belongs to NSTA, NABT, and NCSE. He is married to Cheri (with whom he teaches). He enjoys running, cooking, camping, flying, and trout fishing.
