Sharon received a B.A. from San Diego State University in Biological
Sciences, Chemistry, and English. She is currently pursuing a
Masters degree in Education. For the past 14 years, Sharon has
taught AP Biology, Biology, Chemistry, and Physical Science at
Poway High School. During this time, she has served as Science
Department Chair and is currently a member of the Faculty Senate.
Sharon is also an Advanced Placement Biology Essay Reader and
has participated in the Biology Focus Group. Prior to Poway High
School, Sharon has taught at the Granite Hills and Apple Valley
High Schools.
Sharon has been recognized in Who's Who Among American Teachers
and received the UCSD Outstanding Teacher Award for 1996. She
has been a participant in the Advanced Placement Biology Workshop
at Stanford University, the Summer Fellowship for Recombinant
DNA-Genetic Engineering at San Francisco State University, the
Mira Costa College Protein Biotechnology Symposium, and the San
Diego Science Alliance. Sharon also coaches the Poway High Varsity
Academic Team. |
